Marian and Nana Dumitra Marian and Nana Dumitra ======================= ![Photo of the Dumitra family](/images/missionaries/dumitra_family.jpg){left} Marian and Nana Dumitra with their four children (Emma, Miriam, Timna and Jonathan) are missionaries with Torchbearers Austria, seconded to DMI. Marian (born 1972) is of Romanian nationality and has Deaf parents; Nana (born 1969) was teaching at a Deaf school in Vienna Austria. They met while Nana was in Romania as a missionary serving the Deaf in 1994; they got married in 1995. Emma was born in 1996 in the USA where Marian and Nana received some additional training for church planting among the Deaf. There they also got in touch with Neville Muir through another missionary who had met Neville in the Philippines before. Marian and Nana went back to Romania, had another baby, moved to Austria where their third child was born (they also did some other things besides having babies) and teamed up with Torchbearers who were willing to send the Dumitra family to the Philippines to serve the Deaf there. Of course, one of the first things they did here, was to have another baby! Now that this is done they want to help to start a Bible- and vocational-training for the Deaf. Right now Marian is part of the teaching staff at the DMI school for the Deaf in Ligao City. Preparations are being made to start a Bible-training program.
