The goal of Deaf Ministries International Thailand is to share the Gospel of
Jesus Christ with the deaf of Thailand in Thai sign language, and to train them
how to evangelise and disciple other deaf for Jesus Christ. We do this by
ministering to them spiritually, physically, emotionally, and socially.
The Deaf Ministry Center

Our home in Chiang Mai is called the "Ministry for the Deaf" in the Thai
language. It has become the place for the deaf to fellowship with other deaf
and deaf Christians. There are many activities at our home that help us to
reach out to the local deaf community. We have parties, raise fish, Cell
Group meetings, Seminars, host visiting teams from the US and other countries,
house deaf who need a place to stay, and many other activities to bring them
into contact with the Gospel. There always seems to be deaf people around the
place to share and exemplify our Christian living with.
Worship and Spiritual Growth
----------------------------
Worship and Spiritual Growth are the focal point of all activities at the
Ministry for the Deaf and The Acts Church of Chiang Mai. Worship Services are
held in conjunction with The Acts Church of Chiang Mai on Sunday mornings. Cell
Group meetings are held at our home on Wednesday evenings. There are
"Servant Leaders" who work hard to provide an environment of nurturing and
encouragement for the deaf Christians in Chiang Mai and Tak.
The Video Ministry

Our Worship Services, Training Seminars, and Specials are being produced on
video for distribution in Thailand. Developing an interesting and enjoyable
program in Thai Sign Language is a demanding task. It has taken years to gather
the equipment and get the skills to use these things properly. These videos are
making an impact! They are instrumental in helping us spread the Gospel
throughout the deaf community of Thailand.
Teaching Thai Sign Language
---------------------------
We have trained the deaf how to teach Thai Sign Language to all Christians
wanting to learn. They teach Thai Sign in area Bible Schools and Churches to
help train interpreters and develop deaf awareness.
Job Training and Employment
---------------------------
We know it is essential to help meet the physical, as well as the spiritual
needs of the deaf in Thailand. Therefore we have helped them train for, and
find, employment. They have taken to heart II Thessalonians 3:10 and want to
work for a living. Working in society has also given them the drive to work for
the Lord too.
Social Interaction
------------------
We are working with and have been involved with the national and local
chapters of the Deaf Associations in Thailand. We have also taught and worked
voluntarily at the Deaf Schools in Chiang Mai for more than three years. Many
blessing have been poured on us due to this consistent social work. It was our
great privilege to have an audience with the Princess of Thailand who
congratulated us on our volunteer services at the Deaf School in Chiang Mai in
1996.
